- New distribution partnership between TARGAN and VETIPLUS provides automated solutions to Colombia’s poultry industry
- Agreement supports long-term competitiveness in a country emerging as an important regional and global producer
- The collaboration addresses local labor complexities, helping producers to meet evolving regulations and improve animal welfare
Raleigh, North Carolina, United States, May 28, 2026 — TARGAN, a global leader in automation and technology solutions for the animal protein industry, today announced a distribution partnership with Colombian animal health company, VETIPLUS . The new collaboration aims to support the local poultry industry with advanced automated solutions.
The two companies have a shared vision to strengthen the industry’s long-term competitiveness as Colombia continues to establish itself as an important player in regional consumption and export markets. The partnership also responds to challenges increasingly shaping the industry, including rising protein demand, labor shortages, employee turnover, evolving regulations, and growing pressure for animal welfare improvements.
Alejandro Franco, General Manager at VETIPLUS, commented: “The poultry industry in Colombia is evolving rapidly. Partnering with TARGAN allows us to remain at the forefront of innovation and bring new technologies closer to our customers as they continue strengthening their operations. This collaboration positions both organizations to better support the industry’s modernization efforts.”
Latin America expansion
Ramin Karimpour, Founder and CEO of TARGAN, said: “This collaboration is part of our broader expansion strategy across Latin America, where we are seeing strong momentum toward the adoption of our superior technologies. Colombia represents a key market within that strategy and, together with VETIPLUS, we are strengthening our ability to support Colombian producers with solutions that drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term regional competitiveness.”
Carlos Bautista, LATAM Key Account Manager at TARGAN, added: “Colombia was one of the first markets where we introduced our technology last year, and since then we have seen significant interest and adoption across the region. As in many Latin American countries, chick sexing is already a well-established practice in Colombia, but it also comes with operational challenges. Our focus is helping producers address these challenges through technologies like WingScan™, bringing greater consistency, scalability, and operational reliability to the hatchery.”
“The right combination of technology and local support”
Omar Jacome, Hatchery Division Director at VETIPLUS, added: “We are excited to serve as the local partner supporting the adoption of WingScan in Colombia. Producers are facing increasing pressure from labor shortages, regulatory changes, and growing animal welfare expectations. Addressing these challenges requires the right combination of technology and local support, and that is exactly what we are committed to providing alongside producers across the market.”
This agreement further strengthens TARGAN’s strategy to expand its presence across Latin America by supporting producers with innovative, data-driven technologies that improve efficiency, operational excellence, consistency, and animal welfare throughout the production chain.
VETIPLUS is a Colombian company headquartered in Cota, Cundinamarca. Founded in 1997, the company provides integrated solutions in animal health, nutrition, biosecurity, and productivity for the agricultural sector, positioning itself as a trusted strategic partner within the industry.
